black friday: let’s add some colour
Here at Dip & Doze, we believe it’s just important for us to act on supporting the improvement of nature, as it is to act on reducing our environmental impact as much as possible. So, this Black Friday, we’re excited to be supporting Rewilding Britain in their incredible work protecting the natural habitats that we all love so much, and helping restore nature across the UK. We’ll be donating £5 from every order placed between November 25th – 28th.
what is rewilding?
Rewilding is the large-scale restoration of ecosystems to the point where nature can take care of itself. It seeks to reinstate natural processes and, where appropriate and when the time is right, reintroduce missing species – allowing them to shape the landscape and its habitats. Rewilding offers so much hope and the opportunity to help nature thrive.
Where, for instance, tree planting efforts attempt to do nature’s job; rewilding let’s nature plant its own trees when it’s ready.
how you’ll be helping
1. Reduce climate change
Nature is our best ally in the fight against climate change. Trees, peatlands, saltmarshes and other ecosystems are perfectly adapted to soak carbon dioxide and store it – so let’s keep them here.
2. Support local economies
Rewilding land and seas can create a thriving ecosystem of employment – from restoring naturally-flowing rivers to mixing livestock management with wildlife guiding, to running community activities.
3. Increase biodiversity
By allowing diverse habitats to re-establish themselves, from woodland to seagrass meadows to peatland to scrub, we can give wildlife a chance to bounce back.
4. Clean air & water, & create healthy soils
Healthy soils bring us nourishing food, trees help to filter the air we breathe, and unpolluted rivers give us clean water. All things we can’t live without.
5. Mitigate weather events
Land that is covered in both native trees and scrub absorbs more water than denuded hills, reducing the risk of flash flooding. Likewise, healthy soils and habitats with a variety of native vegetation are at much less risk of wildfire than grounds that’re less cared for.
So, rewilders, let’s reconnect and reset by letting nature lead…
