organic cotton vs. conventional cotton

Fibres that come from nature are perfect just the way they are. That’s why each and every Dip & Doze home comfort is thoughtfully designed with the greatest care, and why our cotton bedding, towels and robes are made from 100% GOTS certified organic cotton. This way, we can bring the purest, non-toxic beauty of nature right to your home. Here’s a breakdown…

why organic?

Organic cotton isn’t just free from harmful pesticides and chemicals, it also uses significantly less water to grow, all while supporting healthier, more resilient soil. These low-impact farming methods play a key role in addressing climate change. Unlike conventional agriculture, which is a major source of pollution, organic systems can help remove carbon dioxide from the air and store it in the soil—where the carbon pool is nearly three times the size of the atmospheric one.

GOTS

(Global Organic Textile Standard)

At Dip & Doze, we choose GOTS certification for our organic cotton. GOTS looks at the entire journey, from field to finished product, making sure every step meets strict environmental and social guidelines. That means full traceability, from seed to finished product, and peace of mind for you.

GOTS strictly prohibits a long list of nasty chemicals used in conventional textiles—like flame retardants, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and PFCs. Instead, only safe, approved substances are allowed, like low-impact dyes and hydrogen peroxide (no chlorine bleach here).

But it’s not just about what’s left out. GOTS makes sure that the way cotton is processed is responsible too, requiring proper wastewater treatment and environmental plans, along with strong labour standards. So when you see that GOTS label, you can feel good knowing it’s better for your health, for the people who grew and made it, and for the Earth we all share.

To us, organic cotton means more than just comfort, it’s about supporting a better way of doing things. By choosing organic, we help promote safer farming practices, healthier working conditions, and a more sustainable approach to agriculture. As awareness and demand for environmentally responsible choices grow, so does the positive impact. Whether it’s a global shift or one person creating a healthier home, every choice counts—and that’s what makes going organic so powerful.
